Abstract
Background: Urinary tract infection (UT) is a common pediatric condition involving the lower and/or
upper urinary tract and is associated with significant morbidity if not diagnosed early. Clinical presentation in
children is often non-specific, particularly in infants, leading to delayed diagnosis. Increasing antimicrobial
resistance among uropathogens has further complicated management, especially in developing countries
like Nepal.
